Présentation

The goal is to provide fundamentals in thermodynamics and kinetics of chemical reactions.

Course content:
- Thermodynamics of ideal and non ideal phase
- Kinetics of complex reactions (chain reaction, polymerisation, catalysis ...)
- Processes at solid surface (adsorption, catalytic activity ...).

Objectifs

- To know general concepts about thermodynamics and changes of state
- To be able to calculate equilibrium in solids or fluids
- To be able to estimate reaction rates (in homogeneous and heterogeneous conditions)
- To know how to describe non ideal solution
- To know the application of surface reactivty in processes.

Formation expérimentale : Laboratory class dedicated to the kinetic study of a chemical reaction.

Pré-requis recommandés

1st cycle degree or a bachelor degree in Chemistry, Physics, Materials Engineering, Chemical Engineering, Bio-chemical Engineering, or equivalent degrees in one of the previous domains.
