Interpretation of phase diagram, phase transformation and temperature profile to predict microstructure
Overview of the synthesis technics available in metallurgy in order to achieve the desired composition and microstructure
Application to thermoelectric materials in order to relate the crystal structure/microstructure and the electronic and thermal properties

Objectifs

To predict and to control the composition and the microstructure of an alloy relying on: the phase diagram, the solidification profile and the synthesis technic.
To understand the effect of the crystal structure/microstructure on the thermal and on the electronic properties of thermoelectric materials.
